Upcoming events for Prairie's New Voices photo program for high school students:
Sycamore High School students work with the Holocaust Survivor's Group at Jewish Family Service to reflect on life in images and words. Above image by Sycamore Senior Ben Wells. "I worry that, coupled with our inability to work for what we desire, will make us, instead of the first generation to accomplish something as major as doing away with nations and abolishing war, the first generation to accomplish absolutely nothing."
Work from this program will be shown at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center from Noon to 5:00 on May 5.
Summit Country Day students are creating portraits and providing prints for guests at Our Daily Bread. Work from this program will be shown at the Summit art show on May 5.
Next at Prairie Gallery, The Art of Ron English. Ron English is often seen in and around shops, restaurants and organizations in Over-the-Rhine carrying a collection of his pastel drawings on found objects, most often cardboard scraps. He will show acryclic paintings and drawings in his show at Prairie opening June 8.
Prairie Gallery is located at 4035 Hamilton Avenue in Northside. 582-9833. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-4.
