Next at Prairie: Arthole's Realhot Toy Show
Opening Friday, August 6, 6-9 pm,
Continuing through September 18, 2010
Kenton Brett, Emily Caito, David Jarred, John Hancock, Aaron Kent and Bekka Sage create handmade toys, videos and an interactive installation the evening of the opening featuring the “brown gallery”, a portable mini art gallery contained inside of a portable toilet which will be installed on Hamilton Avenue .
Prairie is open Tuesday-Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-4.

Prairie announces its Fall, 2010 Kid's View photography class for 9-13 year olds. Kid's View Cooks introduces kids to gardening and cooking by visiting organizations which promote local food production and by creating their own unique recipes in a community kitchen. Students will document their experiences in photographs and writing and create their own cookbooks!
Digital Photo Class for high school age students this fall at Prairie.
Beginning on Monday August 30 and continuing through November 29, high school age students will learn the creative possibilities of digital photography through a series of camera and Photoshop exercises. This class meets every other Monday for two hours.

Prairie's New Voices program with Princeton High School culminated on May 28 with the opening of an exhibit of student work at Coffee Emporium. Students explored low income housing issues in downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine in words and photographs. They met with community leaders in Over-the-Rhine, spoke with residents at the Metropole apartment building and traveled to Louisville to explore the 21C boutique hotel that will soon expand into the Metropole space.
